Russia backs Lanka
Russia has said that while being concerned with the humanitarian situation in Sri Lanka, there was no doubt the country was fighting a tough and difficult enemy – the LTTE, which was banned by many countries as a terrorist organization.
Russian Ambassador at the United Nations Vitaly Churkin who is also the incoming Security Council President told journalists on Monday that it was no secret the LTTE was conducting itself
inhumanely by using civilians as human shields. “We hope the international community will be able to help the Sri Lankan government ............
