Bambara Walalla

My hat off to Siphala Foundation for their noble project and set of fund raising events such as Hoppers /Sri Lankan food delivery projects.
Bambara Walalla,Nice move,Heh ,but I could not enjoy the movie.I was just watching serious of incidents opening in front of me ,with curiosity .That’s good, mean it had a good flow,a quality of a movie. But the theme I mean.
Specially the part before the interval it exposed the lowness of our social life .That was about 30-40 years ago I suppose, in a remote village. To my knowledge a village in our country 2 -3 decade s back were more attractive and simple .
The race on the paddy field were less known to anyone. Can someone tell me it was a part of Sri Lankan new year event or annual event like ALUTH SAHAL MANGALLYA?.As the race went on I had the feeling of something unfortunate will happen at the end. I had a shy of relief when the scene finished without killing anyone. Is anyone got the feeling like me?
Any way ,while I live in NZ, I would like to see a film with more attractive/ theme. A theme based on love, and a family story, like Duhulu Malak, Aradhana (Sinhala) and Gamperaliya and perasatumal are too old ,a film with a little bit of fun.( not MODA CHOON).I don’t know whether that type of films are made in SL now.( May be I am still old fashioned ,no go forward vadda)
Actually these films are made not to earn money in SL but to send or get selected for foreign film festivals. They like see more uncivilised side of a developing country like us. So directors are too eager to exaggerate little bit of lowlife of our society. Luckily this film was not popular in internationally like Slum Dog Millionaire which Indian expatriates hate.

I thought it was a total waste of time and energy to watch this boring film. what was there to watch? When I saw the thank you's to all the florists at the beginning I suspected that it was about death or a few deaths but it was just a dragging film that Siphala Foundation should not have got us to watch just because it was for a good cause. I also agree with the blog that when you send films overseas you need to show some of the development and good things about a country or its culture - not the very worst and the lowlives like the man who rapes his own step daughter or the never ending killings.

I totally agreed the comments given by this Anonymous person.Hence whoever being introduce these kind of horrific and brutal graphic images are not recommended to the decent society. It may good for some fraction of people but not everyone.
I strongly suggest before your guys screen these kind of films try and make a decision whether it is appropriate to show to the public or not otherwise do not bring these substandard films.
